Helping You & Your Dog Become A Better Team!
What is the The Pet Teacher experience?  First, it is a seasoned skill and understanding of
dog sense.  My formal dog behavior studies have given me comprehensive knowledge and
understanding of canine psychology.  I have years of proven expertise and know the
difference between behavior management and behavior modification versus simply teaching
you some training techniques ... and I know how to integrate all of this knowledge and skill
into a thorough solution for YOUR needs.  I can answer your questions on why your DOG
does what he does, as well as how to get your dog to do what you want using gentle,
confident guidance and leadership.

It is also the scope of my professional expertise and how to use it to help you toward
your goals.  In addition to my extensive knowledge of canine psychology, I spent many
years in corporate training teaching relationship skill building so I also have people
sense.  Schooled in organizational psychology and development, I teach you the science and
value of collaborative motivation.  I understand why YOU do what you do and how to help
both you and your dog learn and repeat practical behaviors.

A new generation of highly successful dog trainers are proving that it's possible to
train dogs without using outdated concepts of force and intimidation, instead using
gentle and effective methods based on scientific principles of learning and behavior.
There is no need to use force methods to train your dog.  My methods will give you the
ability to work with your dog's natural instincts using an assortment of tools and
techniques to help your dog become the well-behaved housemate you desire.
I teach you
how to create lasting life skills for you and your dog!

EXPERIENCE
award-winning producer of TV spots, documentaries and corporate training programs with
expertise in leading global teams in traditional live and video communications, mobile,
satellite and experiential training, ride & drives, conventions and conferences, and even
guerilla marketing.  She then became an on-camera host, training facilitator and writer for
Fortune 500 companies for their customer and employee learning projects.  She studied
Organizational Psychology at the University of Michigan, as well as being a graduate of
Dale Carnegie, Toastmasters, Denis Waitley, Brian Tracy, Dave Meier and the Disney
Institute.  Denise has also received three Certificates of Appreciation from the United States
Marine Corps for her work on local recruiting television spots, along with volunteering for
Toys For Tots.

Throughout her life many dogs have lived with Denise – a Beagle, Scottish Terrier, English
Bulldog, Cairn Terrier, Golden Retriever, American Staffordshire Terrier, Poodle,
Pekingese, Cocker Spaniel, Tibetan Spaniel, Australian Shepherd, Border Collie and several
mixed breeds; she always has two or three dogs living with her.  With years of personal
hands-on experience with dogs, she did not like the force and intimidation methods of
traditional compulsion dog training, so she developed her own style calling it the “Thank
You Method” of dog training, often helping her friends with their dogs.  She noticed that
her way of teaching dogs resembled the new ways of training in the corporate world by
using motivation rather than fear.  She took all she had learned in the corporate world and
went on a search for a way to educate people on non-force dog training methods, studying
dog behavior while training on her own for several years using her knowledge of behavior
and psychology.

Denise found the facility she was searching for where she could officially study Positive
Reinforcement methodology, becoming an accredited dog trainer through their program.
With thousands of hours of dog behavior studies completed and still studying, Denise is
now the buzz in the dog world as an in-home trainer/behavior consultant, specializing in
anxiety issues.  She works with area veterinarians teaching them how to train their dogs,
along with consulting at a local shelter.  With experience working with blind, deaf,
aggressive and high-energy dogs, her gentle humane methods are successful with all breeds,
ages and temperaments.  Her own program, Pregnant Paws     , prepares people and their
dogs for a new baby.  Denise gives seminars on responsible pet ownership, child dog safety,
motivational dog training methods, along with clicker training demonstrations.

Denise is an advanced expert at problem solving all dog behavior issues that pet owners have
in their homes with their families because that’s what she’s been doing for the past ten
years.  All of her people-training skills from her corporate projects, combined with her in-
depth studies of dog behavior, along with working with thousands of people and their dogs
in their homes gives Denise the seasoned skill to help you and your dog become a better team!
